Chiesa e convento di S. Maria Maddalena de' Pazzi

The Church was founded together with the adjoining Benedictine convent in 1257 and was rebuilt by Giuliano da Sangallo at the end of the 15th c. The interior is a single hall, with six chapels on either side.

At the end of 15th c. the church contained paintings by Botticelli, Perugino, Ghirlandaio and others. Those works are now in Florentine and foreign museums. The main chapel is the finest example of Roman Baroque in Florence.

From the sacristy you enter the monastery’s former chapter hall where there is a notable Crucifixion frescoed by Perugino that covers the entire far wall of the hall.
